Sam Altman and Greg Brockman, along with several former colleagues from OpenAI, are set to join Microsoft, as announced by the software conglomerate’s CEO, Satya Nadella, on Monday. This development follows the abrupt departure of executives from the AI startup, sparking three days of intense discussions.

In a statement, Nadella revealed that the ex-OpenAI team members would be at the helm of a “new advanced AI research team” within Microsoft. He expressed anticipation for the swift provision of the necessary resources to ensure their success.

Despite the changes, Nadella emphasized Microsoft’s continued commitment to OpenAI, noting that his company had invested over $10 billion in the startup.
